- Measure twice, ship once. Most "mystery tolerance" bugs in physical products trace back to a skipped measurement. These three cover ~90% of what comes up.
- Calibrate against a known standard monthly. Drift is real — especially on calipers and scales. A 10-minute check once a month is cheaper than one bad production run.
- Pocket-sized is the requirement. Anything that lives in a drawer gets forgotten. The scale and caliper both fit in a jacket pocket or pelican case.
